CPAP HeaterSinomas has been supplying to the medical industry for many years. The heater plates for humidifiers of CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) machines are a good example of many successful applications.

The CPAP humidifier heater is used in the heated breathing systems for respiratory therapy. A heater plate is placed under the water reservior of humidifier to heat the water to vapor. The heating elements are custom designed according to customer requirements. They can be made of silicone rubber or polyimide film with uniform heat distribution. On-board sensors such as thermistors and thermal cutouts are commonly included for safety and moisture adjustment.

The flexible heater assembly can be supplied with adhesive tape backing for customers to install on their metal plates. We can also supply the whole heater plates with hard anodized Aluminum plates and cord set.

Sleep apnea is a sleep disorder characterized by repeated pauses of breathing during sleep, sometimes hundreds of times during the night and often for a minute or longer. If left untreated, sleep apnea can cause high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, memory loss, and weight problems. The resulting lack of restful sleep may also be responsible for job impairment and motor vehicle accidents.

A main treatment option is the use of a Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) machine. The patient wears a mask that uses pressure to send air flowing through the nasal passages so they don’t collapse and cause breathing to cease.

CPAP Humidifiers add moisture to the airstream to help reduce irritation to the nasal passages. This is often best accomplished by heating water to a vapor and introducing it into the air stream. This method often has an advantage over the misting method as it creates vapor as well as heat.
